Pre-Columbian Ixtlan del Rio Conjoined figures from West Mexico, ca. 100 BCE. - 250 CE. Large hollow pottery male and female figures with arms around each other. The male is seated crossed legged, wearing a loin cloth, headdress, nose, ear ornaments and holding a rattle. Female wears a full length skirt, head band, nose and ear ornaments, she is holding a pot. Both with painted geometric decorations in white, yellow and black. Manganese deposits on the surface. A rare example! TL tested will accompany the pair.
12 3/4" in height x 11" wide.
Male has head and arm reattached with restoration over the break lines. Tip of his headdress missing. A small piece restored from the ear ornament of the male, otherwise intact. A nice example!
