This Tlatilco anthropomorphic rattle pottery figure originates from Tlatilco in the Valley of Mexico and dates back to the Early Formative Period (1200–900 BCE). The figure is hollow-modeled from earthenware and features punctate, appliqué, and incised decorations.

The design includes a stylized human form with detailed facial features, appliquéd hair, and large earspools. The hollow construction produces a rattle sound, which suggests a potential ceremonial or ritual function. A punctate decoration on the belly and incised details add to its overall design. This artifact represents early Mesoamerican craftsmanship. Private Virginia collection, acquired prior to 1980.
