Pre-Columbian Chinesco pottery painted bowl from Nayarit, West Mexico, ca. 100BCE-250 CE. Bowl with painted geometric designs on the outside. One painted line in the inner rim. Traces off manganese deposits and root marks attesting to its age. cf. Coast to Coast, Pre-Columbian Sculptures from West Mexico, page 341 & 342 for a similar type. Two small sections restored from the rim otherwise intact and in good condition. 7 3/8" in diameter x 2 3/8" in height.
