Pre-Columbian Maya orangeware frog vessel from Guatemala, ca. 600-900 CE. A lovely  effigy pottery vessel in the form of a frog with molded low relief limbs, protruding head set between eyes. Among the Maya, frogs are shown as the rain god Chad's musicians and are linked with fertility. Repaired from two pieces with restoration over the break-ins. 7-5/8"x4"
