An impressive and well-preserved Pre-Columbian ceramic bowl from the Nariño culture, highlands of southern Colombia, dating circa 800–1500 CE. This hand-formed terracotta vessel features a wide, shallow body raised on a flared pedestal base and is decorated internally with a mesmerizing all-over pattern of concentric circles.

Executed using the negative-resist slip painting technique, the circles alternate between cream and red tones over a dark burnished background, creating a bold optical effect. The repeated circular motif likely carries symbolic meaning—possibly related to fertility, the cosmos, or spiritual vision.

The bowl's symmetry and fine finish reflect the technical mastery of Nariño ceramicists, whose abstract and symbolic visual language is among the most recognizable in ancient Andean art.

Dimensions: Height: 3 1/4"; Diameter: 7 7/8"
Condition: Excellent; minor surface wear and a small structural reinforcement at the base. Colors and slip remain vibrant.
