Large Hellenistic / Graeco-Roman Pottery Head Fragment
A large terracotta head fragment depicting a youthful face with almond-shaped eyes, defined eyelids, full lips, and wavy hair swept back from the forehead. The softly modeled cheeks and rounded chin lend the face a calm, contemplative expression. A broad section of pottery survives around the head, framing the features.
The surface displays mottled brown and reddish-orange tones, with scattered encrustation and wear. The reverse is rounded, with a circular opening.
Dimensions: 6 7/8″ × 6 1/4″.
Condition: Fragmentary, with losses around the perimeter, wear to the nose and other raised features, and surface abrasions, as illustrated.
