Pre-Columbian Costa Rican Jade Bird Celt Pendant with Green Stone Bead Necklace
Costa Rica, ca. 500 BCE–800 CE

Finely carved jade bird celt pendant depicting a stylized avian figure with a prominent beak and elongated celt-shaped body. Bird celts are among the finest jade carvings produced in ancient Costa Rica and are believed to have symbolized spiritual transformation, communication with the divine, and elite status. Such pendants were worn by high-ranking individuals as prestigious ornaments and ceremonial insignia.

The pendant is accompanied by a necklace composed of numerous ancient green stone disc beads, forming an attractive and well-balanced display. The jade exhibits a smooth ancient polish with excellent craftsmanship characteristic of Costa Rican lapidary traditions.
