Pre-Columbian Colima Miniature Seated Pottery Figure, Autlán Style
An expressive miniature pottery figure modeled in a seated position, with bent legs and rounded arms brought together beneath the chin. The upward-tilted face features deeply outlined almond-shaped eyes with punctuated pupils, a prominent nose, and a slightly open mouth. An incised headband or coiffure frames the head, while ear ornaments and paired incised lines on the upper arms complete the adornment. These details suggest an affinity with the Autlán style. Warm reddish-brown surfaces accentuate the sculptural contours and engaging pose.
