Pre-Columbian Mixtec Green Stone Penate
A finely carved green stone penate depicting a stylized frontal figure with a broad rectangular head, prominent brows, deeply defined eyes, and a small parted mouth. Circular ear ornaments flank the face, while the hands meet across the abdomen, with individually carved fingers. Short legs complete the compact form.
The stone displays mottled olive-green and gray coloration with surface wear. The reverse is flat, with two drilled openings near the upper back.
