Pre-Columbian Olmec pottery figure, skillfully modeled in a standing pose with both arms held slightly away from the body, accentuating the rounded hips and elaborate, banded coiffure highlighted with traces of red pigment. The tan slip surface is further embellished with red-painted accents on the tips of the arms and feet, and scattered areas of strong mineral deposits attest to its ancient burial. The head, both arms, and left foot have been reattached with visible break lines; the figure is missing the left long hair lock with minor losses to the coiffure. Presented on a custom museum-quality stand.
