Ancient Greek Terracotta Head of a Woman
A terracotta head depicting a woman with an oval face, softly modeled eyes, closed lips, and a slender neck. Her hair is arranged in waves swept back from the forehead beneath a raised headdress. The warm buff clay retains areas of pale surface coating and scattered encrustation, emphasizing the surviving facial and hair details. Presented on a modern display stand.
Condition: Fragmentary, with losses to the nose, headdress, and base of the neck, along with surface wear and encrustation. Glued on to the stand.
Height: 2 3/4”.
Provenance: Ex Ararity Auctions, Virginia.
