An elegant free-blown green glass unguentarium featuring a tall cylindrical neck, gently flared rim, and graceful pear-shaped body. The vessel exhibits beautiful natural iridescence, mineral encrustation, and weathering acquired over nearly two millennia of burial, creating a highly desirable ancient surface.


Unguentaria were widely used throughout the Roman world to store perfumes, scented oils, cosmetics, and medicinal preparations. They were also frequently deposited in burials as funerary offerings, reflecting both practical and ritual significance in daily Roman life.
A fine, large example of Roman glass with excellent display presence. Mounted on a custom acrylic stand.
