Ancient Roman Pottery Oil Lamp, 3rd–5th Century AD, Holy Land
Description
A genuine ancient Roman ceramic oil lamp with rounded disc body and front wick nozzle. The lamp retains traces of its original slip and earthen deposits from burial, giving it an appealing archaeological surface.
The underside bears an old export/collection stamp along with a catalog inventory label. This lamp comes from the same mid-20th-century collection as the other stamped lamp offered, indicating it was legally exported and catalogued at the time.
These lamps were widely used throughout the Roman world for everyday household lighting.
