Description

Pre-Columbian Maya Polychrome Stucco Bowl
Honduras, Late Classic Period, ca. 400–900 CE

A remarkable Maya polychrome stucco bowl featuring surviving painted decoration in cream, yellow, and red pigments over a rich red ground. The vessel displays stylized avian imagery characteristic of Classic Period Maya ceramics from Honduras. Reassembled from ancient fragments with expected losses and surface wear consistent with age. Despite its condition, the bowl retains strong visual appeal and serves as an excellent example of ancient Maya painted pottery traditions.
